NHS Lanarkshire: Hospital housing plan approved

Lanarkshire Primary Care NHS Trust has been granted outline planning permission to redevelop the site of Kirklands Hospital in Bothwell for housing.

Following a decision by NHS Lanarkshire to relocate services to Strathclyde Hospital in Motherwell, the site has now been declared surplus to requirements.

South Lanarkshire: Multi-million pound plan for Carluke

A masterplan for the north-east edge of Carluke is now underway after the finalised South Lanarkshire Local Plan was given the go-ahead.

Approval by the council's planning committee has paved the way for proposals which will include significant new leisure and recreation facilities at the current Moor Park and high school sites.
