| Re: Huzzah! Finally, a proper song up. Good song. The guitar needs to be a bit meatier in my opinion. The band needs to be tighter, you're all playing the song as individuals on that track, you need to be playing as a unit.
You should rehearse it without Rachael a lot. Play your part but, while playing it ignore it and listen to what everyone else is doing.
It sounds like a good song. At the moment it's a bunch of people playing the same song at the same time. It doesn't sound like a unit, like a band, yet.

I think that's why myself and Chris aren't to chuffed with it, because now we are much tighter and could play it much better but oh well

But that's my own falt for not being used to playing without guitar etc | I'm not entirely sure its anything to do with the actual playing of the drums like - more the recording or the mix. They would probably sound a lot better if the Bass was uber-prominent... (Bassists will one day rule the Earth Muwahahahaha!) although the way they sound does have a bit of a troublegum vibe about them.

The drums ARE out of time and the bass drum especially isnt played very well, I was well off that day, so I keep picking these parts out and annoying myself cause of it.
Overall though Im glad with the reaction people are having, its the same as what I think, good song but just a mediocre recording

| Re: Huzzah! Finally, a proper song up. I think it's a good song as has been said.
I was expecting something to happen, not a solo or something, but maybe for you guys to take it somewhere with a bit more energy for a bit.
Also agree with Layla I'm not picking up many lyrics, but the vocalist (Is that Rach?) has a really nice voice, it might just be the echo.
Timing is a wee bit out yeah, but you'll get tighter.
I know I had a few criticisms there, but don't get me wrong, i did like it! |

| Re: Huzzah! Finally, a proper song up. Criticism is good though!
I know what you mean about it "going somewhere"
While playing it I felt the "bridgey" bit just before the last verse/chorus was more energetic but the recording/production have taken the energy away from it somewhat

The recording and mixing isnt that great but who gives a fuck. Its a good way of getting your stuff down so you can sit back and see what needs doing.
I listened to your first song when you posted it and this is a big improvement.
Where/what did you use to record? |
