| Season 4: US Schedule. It's back! Quote: |
Episodes will continue to feature secondary storylines showing points in characters' lives before and after their time on the island. The sixteen-episode fourth season of the U.S. serial drama television series Lost will begin airing on January 31, 2008 and will conclude (pending resolution of the Writers Guild of America strike) in May 2008. It continues the stories of a group of more than forty people who have been stranded on a remote island in the South Pacific, after their airplane crashed ninety-three days prior to the beginning of the season, while they are assailed by a group of dangerous island inhabitants they call the "Others" and attempt to escape the mysterious island.
| Recap:
The third season's conclusion is set on December 23, 2004. The crash survivors made contact with what they think is a freighter off the coast of the island. Meanwhile, the war between the Others and the survivors came to its climax which saw several of the Others killed.
Some possible spoilers from San Diego's Comic-Con International 2007: It has been hinted that there is no boat coming to the island; however, whoever is coming to the island is "a lot worse" than the Others. What happened between Ben and the real Henry Gale and how Ben was caught in Rousseau's trap on the survivors' fifty-eighth day will be explained. The four-toed statue will be addressed. Whether or not Kate is pregnant with a baby from Sawyer will be revealed in the first four episodes. What happened in the Hatch during its implosion will be explored. The fate of Sun and her unborn child will be made clear. What happened to Dr. Marvin Candle's arm will be addressed. How Libby wound up in the mental institution will be shown. What happened to Ben's childhood friend Annie will be revealed. More will be seen of the authoritative Other Jacob. Episodes will continue to feature flashbacks, in addition to flash forwards, which have revealed that Jack and Kate escape the island; however, a depressed Jack believes it to be a mistake. Not all the survivors make it off the island. This season is apparently scarier and more violent than previous seasons. There will be more deaths, some of which take place in flash forwards. Time travel and other supernatural elements will be a part of the season, and decoy endings have been shot. |

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. Ah good, have been waiting for this. The usual cries of "It's pish" will come from those who gave up after a season. I know it's a bit nuts, but dammit, I enjoy it, and I've invested enough time in this that I'm damn well gonna see it through to the end.

I was actually quite disappointed with the first episode to be honest, especially after the long wait. |

There really wasn't all that much going on in that episode, and the pace it was moving at seemed rather slow. Also, strange to see that they are indeed sticking with this "flash-forward" approach- I'm not sure how well that's going to pan out if continued throughout the season. Will be interesting to see how that develops.

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. Apparently (and theres a screencap on the Lost forum that shows it) Christian was in the rocking chair when Hurley looked through the cabin window. My screen was too dark to see it but John Terry was in the guest star credits and the screencap does show it. |

I watched the 8minute recap on the Lost website and was a bit thrown by what's supposedly happened - are the Others still viewed as bad or what? There seemed a helluva lotta discrepancies, made me kinda glad I stopped watching. But... at the end of the fifth season I reckon I'll try and get my mitts on series 3, 4 and 5, and gorge myself on them for a few days. Til then I'll just swatch the spoilers in the hope that some of the questions from the first two series finally get answered. |

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. I quite enjoyed it tonight, was quite a slow pace but it sets it up nice for the rest of this series.
All the indications seem to point towards them being set up to be sent back in the next series and this one will be how they decide that they're going. |

Seeing as Hurley's shouting "I'm one of the Oceanic six" at the beginning, it would seem that quite a considerable amount of the survivors aren't getting rescued. I'm more interested to see what happens there, rather than the fate of those who actually get sent back.
Also, am I right in thinking the name of Hurley's visitor at the mental hospital- the Oceanic Airlines representative- was Matthew Abaddon? Hope this isn't going to start trying to come up with religious explanations for events on the island. Would feel like a bit of a cop-out if it did.

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. The question's now changesd. It used to be 'did they get off the island?' and now it splits into who got off, how did they get off and what happened to get them off. I think the flashbacks and flash forwards will be awesome. |

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. didn't quite com across as the first episode of a new series to me; i know that we can expect lots to happen shortly but just seemed underwhelming so far. With kate and jack's flash forward we already knew some of them make it off, and hurley has seen people before... i just expected something more unprecedented i guess, to get our attention.

| Re: Season 4: US Schedule. I quite liked that, pretty slow paced but seemed to be just setting the scene of what's to come. I'm not sure how it'll pan out with the flash forwards & the 'Oceanic six' thing. Seems like if they stick with them, we'll probably find out who the other 3 are and it'll get rid of a potential cliff-hanger, or the flash forwards will just focus on the 3 we've seen or they'll convert back to flash backs and leave us wondering. |
