What is it with the timing of these so close to family birthday events? Dammit, this happened with the second one as well, which I almost wound up missing. This time I'd have no chance though for the 23rd.

The more I think about it, the 16th does seem the best choice.
The chances of it being do-able on the 2nd are down more to luck of the draw (Which would give us 2 weeks to make the arrangements - Travel, accomodation, time off work etc) that's not fair on those who are wanting to travel.
