I know it's taking a point to an extreme, but I bet some of the people in Germany thought it was 'just a little fun' to protest against the Jews.....
Al | Oh right, it's just that you've completely missed the point of what Scientology is[1] and how it damages people. Fair enough. Continue grousing.
[1] And what a peaceful protest is, for that matter.

Al | Nobody's protesting against anyone's religious beliefs. It's the core attitude that's under attack.

I think I might have a wee touch of justification in peacefully protesting this.
If asked what my crimes are I think I may reply with any or all of the following:-

Also, I was under the illusion that if you had issue with something, be it a religion or otherwise, you had the right to make peaceful protest. |

The Church of Scientology is a vicious and dangerous cult that masquerades as a religion. Its purpose is to make money. It practices a variety of mind-control techniques on people lured into its midst to gain control over their money and their lives. Its aim is to take from them every penny that they have and can ever borrow and to also enslave them to further its wicked ends.
It was started in the 1950s by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard in fulfilment to his declared aim to start a religion to make money. It is an offshoot to a method of psychotherapy he concocted from various sources which he named "Dianetics". Dianetics is a form of regression therapy. It was then further expanded to appear more like a religion in order to enjoy tax benefits. He called it "Scientology".
Scientology is a confused concoction of crackpot, dangerously applied psychotherapy, oversimplified, idiotic and inapplicable rules and ideas and science-fiction drivel that is presented to its members (at the "advanced" levels) as profound spiritual truth.

Al | It is possible to have fun while doing something worthwhile. Check the links Les posted to see why theres so much bad feeling toward the Church of $cientology. If the local mosque represented an organised body that harbored and fostered fraudsters, extortionists, intimidators, kidnappers, torturers, and suspected murderers... I think I might be tempted to have a little fun while simultaneously exposing them as such. As far as I know, though, the local mosque does not represent such a body.
I wont be going though, I have better things to do with my time :P
Cheers!

Scientologists think you shouldn't be allowed to do that. THEY TRIED TO DESTROY THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLE OF THE INTERNET. http://www.wired.com/politics/law/news/2002/03/51233
There. That should convince you. |

| Re: The Internet vs Scientology - Forum Meetup. Edinburgh. Sunday 10th February As this thread rolls on it is increasingly apparent that this is actually just a bunch of dicks from the internet getting drunk together. Not interested. I'd rather go to Alton Towers.
