We haven't really invited any other groups, no. Though we would like to contact Edinburgh Uni who kicked Narconon out of their Union a while back: http://www.rickross.com/reference/sc...britain36.html

We also recently received word from the Fuck The War Coalition (anarchists against the Iraq Wars) that there's interest in joining us.

But being honest, there isn't a huge deal of interest from other protest groups at this stage.

A good Times Article entitled "Revealed: how Scientologists infiltrated Britain's schools"
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/lif...null&offset=12

Story about an English school for kids 3-18:

A story about the Police being used to hand out Scientology material:
http://blog.newhumanist.org.uk/2008/...-booklets.html

Here's a big list of UK press reports on Scientology, many of which cover Political and Educational infiltration:

The links above also show how Scientology has been affecting the UK. I've also been collating a list of local (Edinburgh) related stories in this thread: http://forums.edinburghlulz.com/index.php?topic=61.0

Hope this helps

I'm going to come back and respond to points in more depth when I've finished reading stuff, but I have to say where the hell are the 'Illumanati and Masons are taking over the world' crowd when there apparently is a real conspiracy going on.

Also, Duxor, surely your mate that was fired for not being a scientologist is no different from folks that are fired for not being a christian/muslim/black/white/scottish etc. Easy to sort out with an employment tribunal.

I'll tell you what though, your managing to persuade me of the dangers of the Church of Scientology much better though the use of rational argument then you are though wacky protests, 'lulz' and dodgy looking wikis and websites.

Come on! It's plain to see that Anonymous and CoS are 'in on it', and that this entire spectacle serves merely as a diversion from the real travesty that is the shapeshifting reptilians' plan to melt the polar ice caps with gargantuan hair dryers, thus reducing the population to a manageable level in preparation for the New World Order. Global warming? L Ron Hubbard? You people will believe in anything.

I've been able to engage three members of intelligence agencies about the "Chanology Project" purported to be initiated by the "Anonymous" group. All three unequivocally agree that the initiative has all the earmarks of a covert NSA pattern injection that follows the tactical traditions of FBI CoIntelPro.

But the only reason you're having this conversation is because of the 'wacky protests' and suchlike. So, y'know, it worked.

Fucking hell.

I have to applaud your ability to look behind the veil of the obvious to figure out the not-so-obvious.

Most threads started here only parrot and report what is obvious and out in the open, while you are a true conspiracy-theorist who does not look at what everybody else is looking but have the guts sing out of tune with the parrots on two sides of a noisy fence.
"Congratulations! While other conspiracy nuts simply repeat those conspiracies theories that they've heard from their equally paranoid friends, you go out of your way to make up completely new ones out of thin air!"

Exactly, perhaps there would be interest from other groups if the whole thing seemed more serious than studenty. Perhaps it's a result of Anon's intentional lack of any obvious organisation or leadership, good idea to promote the sales of V For Vendetta masks but it really does make the whole thing seem more prank based. There are probably loads of people like me who agree that Scientology is an evil cult but don't think Anon is a well organised, serious protest group.

Anon. will never be an organised "serious" protest group given its a disparete grouping of individuals and such stewn across the internet. In sociological terms its not only fascinating but potentially by not being well organised and avoiding the other trappings of "serious" protest groups its avoided the inherent cliches attatched to them (anyone for lentils? :P). Trying to understand or criticise Anon as a group or an organisation, as we understand them now, is... well understandable. But it probably means flawed assumptions are being drawn.

What happened, for whatever reasons laudable or lulzworthy, is a random posting on a internet site caught the attention of some folk. An idea germinated and became a worldwide protest. Without proper organisation and with seemingly little more then peoples goodwill to turn up on a set date at set locations. Hell if 'organised' protest groups could do that...

Not really. Of the above links posted, the one I found the most persuasive was the one writted by a professional journalist. Ok, so it might have been the Times, but that's far better outside evidence then has been presented to me previous regarding scientology.
There were also threads on AN about Scientology long before Anon.

I'd be very interested to see other journalistic investigations into the Church. Have any reporters managed to get further into the structure?

Regardless the reason that you are engaged in a debate about scientology here is because of the Anon. protests... Thus you wouldn't have seen that link, posted in this thread about the protests, because there wouldn't have been a place for it to be posted.

Shall I go find the thread about the Anon protests where Mr Hammer is asking us all exactly why we're so down on Scientology?
