Is it the rather tedious there are more important things to protest then this why not do that? one.
Or the rather rhetorical its just a bunch of wacky internet types and not worth taking seriously isn't it? one.

But hey, it's all about the lulz. That's how all good protests should be, it's not like the Faslane Peace Camp closed intentionally because of all the "day tripper protestors". |

Hmmmmmmm...

A combination really. Basically, "why do these protests look like a joke to onlookers?" and "don't you realise how easy it is to be taken seriously?".
I've been on many. many, many marches and protests so i'm not surprised at the pictures of attendees. I don't mean appearance, i mean the obvious age group. It is a protest designed to appeal to Alt forum users and has no obvious plans to broaden itself. Hell, Anon is a bunch of pranksters who most likely find it more comical than useful that people attend these gatherings. Quote:

Hmmmmmmm... | If you mean that I'd rather "serious" protestors then yes. I'd rather see 1 serious organised protest than 100 protests " for the lulz". And I'd hazard a guess that other protest groups haven't got involved for that very reason. Quote:

Protesting is a right and should be taken seriously. The simplest way to undermine a protest is to make it look like a joke, so getting Anon covered on the news does the Scientoligist's job for them.

It isn't. following the birth of the (household based[to avoid pedants]) internet that protest saw more visitors than protestors, there was also a massive increase in the number of people who "went to stay just to have a laugh". Protesting is a right and should be taken seriously. The simplest way to undermine a protest is to make it look like a joke, so getting Anon covered on the news does the Scientoligist's job for them. | Why have the protests and general campaign been such a massive success then? Scientology is on a wild goose chase, trying to fight an enemy it doesn't understand and making a mockery of itself in the courts. Questions about tax have been raised in the senate. It's status as a religion is actually under threat after anon's campaign to write to local politicians. The street protests are just one face of this.
The old time anti-scientology groups have got behind anon and even admitted that anon has done more damage in two months than they have in decades. Mark Bunker has described anon as a "massive PR disaster" for scientology. This is the guy who initially asked anon to stop because they were endangering all the work he and the old time protestors had done.

| Re: The Internet vs Scientology - Edinburgh. Saturday 15th March In a little over two months Anonymous have rocked the boat considerably. These are the kind of results "serious" (if you want to make that distinction) protest groups spend years, even decades, chipping away at.
It seems to me that, if results are your aim, it's the "serious" groups that are doing it wrong.
