That's not in any way an accurate description of Asperger's Syndrome, and is in fact more a caricature of Autism (I'm thinking Rain Man here, maybe you are too).

Okay then, I guess some Aspergers sufferers have TWO things they obsess over. Your two things are my forum persona and not reading the links you post for other people to look at on message boards. I refer you to the third bulletpoint under the heading "Difficulty With Social Imagination" of the very page you just linked me to, and the whopping great section under the heading "Special Interests". Especially the bit that starts "People with Asperger syndrome may develop an intense, sometimes obsessive, interest in a hobby or collecting".

FYI, the reason I threw "Aspergers syndrome" in there was for the purpose of highlighting how obsessive some people are with being accepted in AltNation's bizarre, repulsive social circle. I could just have easily said "OCD-havin'" or something similar and I bet no-one would have batted an eyelash. I wasn't intentionally casting Aspergers syndrome in a negative light, for fuck sake, CHILL OUT. If I can be real for a minute, I do actually know some folk with it and am extremly sympathetic and understanding of their situation, especially when I see how shit some people treat them for the way they can't help being. SO THERE. BUT SYMPTOMS ARE SYMPTOMS, and comparisons are not always made with 100% serious intentions. I assume it's your Aspergers which makes you fail to see the intended light-hearted nature of my post, and that's fine.

So if people with Aspergers are meant to have issues with social interaction and empathy they would become obsessed with making friends with people on the forum? That makes absolutely no sense.

Also, I fail to see how I am obsessed with your forum persona by merely commenting on how I feel about the stuff you post.

And you're so sympathetic towards people with Aspergers you think that you would a) use their condition as a way to insult others and b) claim they will have "inbred spazzy kids" if they reproduce with someone else with Aspergers.

I was connecting "spazzy kids" to "inbreeding" - it was totally unconnected to the "Aspergers" bit. I was in no way intending for the reader to link the two statements.

Listen, I already gave up the ultimate internet defence of "I know people who have it so it's cool for me to say this", the argument ended.

that's exactly how you come across to me though, with your lord-of-the-flies style practice of jumping on people in a way that attempts to make them seem weaker than you... but just ends up looking to me at any rate like a huge insecurity on your own part. I honestly make no attempt to make people seem weaker than me. I guess my natural rippling strength in the arena of conversation just makes it happen that way, but I assure you it's totally natural.

I mean, is it so hard to believe that I am just a genuinely aggressive pursuer of honesty and facts? So difficult to grasp that one man really DOES stand up and call everyone else's bullshit just because it is bullshit? What's the fucking problem?

I love how a simple thread of a 'newbie' wanting to get some other folk to go to alton towers with has turned into a heated discussion.

I'm hopefully going with Jen and Pete in May though, so this thread has no use, except for this discussion of folk fitting in and Aspergers.

I guess your pursuit of the truth is overshadowed and made redundant by aggressive or potentially inflammatory statements like some of the ones you've made in this thread. If your skill at debate was what you say it is you probably wouldn't need to use those sorts of tactics and types of language in order to demonstrate your point. Your reference to asperger's just made it seem like you don't know what asperger's actually is, thus making it harder for any intelligent point you might have to come across.
