Ja, they're a shite bunch to work for. I went for an assistant managers job and was actually quite taken aback by it ~ managers take a share in tips (i guess they are on the floor but seriously, I don't think that's where customers expect their tip to be going-owner should be paying the managers more). Staff were on just under a fiver as their hourly rate and the tips used to make the difference ~ most of the staff didn't know/didn't care because tips are quite generous anyway and would still make it over the min wage. My assistant managers wage was working out just below minimum wage at the time.. like 5.40 instead of 5.52 but I was assured tips would compensate and pay for bonuses!!~
after my two week trial they were going to take me on but I phoned and said I'd changed my mind and didn't think I was suitable ~ bitch hung up on me and it took me 3months to get £150 out of them for my 2 45hr weeks.
