Sheesh. It’s been two years since I first heard about this. Who knew it’d take the slackers so long?

Still, fucking great idea.

I was about to say the same thing but I remembered it being the biopsy to get the original bone rather than extracting the wisodm tooth.

Always fancied it myself

Re: Christmas gift for the goth in your life

I'd love to get my boyfriend one of these, especially now it can be done with your wisdom tooth instead of a bone biopsy (there was always something about that that gave me the boke).

Re: Christmas gift for the goth in your life

As I understand it, this is still just an art project—not a product available for mass consumption. Although something similar certainly will be at some point in the next few years, mark my words.

Re: Christmas gift for the goth in your life

I thought it was a bit art project/bit science project.

The art side brought in folk wanting to work with it and maybe got a few more volunteers into the game and the science folk got the practice and results out of it.

Re: Christmas gift for the goth in your life

Aye, but the science is well and truly solved already—this is existing technology. The scientists involved are acting as contractors/technicians, producing what the artists/designers ask them to.

I'd love one of those - not for the goth aspect, but the pure geekiness of it all!

It was the growning the bone in certain shapes that i thought this was being used to work on the skills needed.
