GLC Censorship / MTV2

Continuing on the theme of censorship & MTV2 (see Eminem post in Bush thread yesterday), I caught the GLC video for 'Your Mother's Got A Penis' yesterday and guess what? MTV2 have cut out the word PENIS in the chorus. Heaven forbid some child hears the word penis on tv and asks what it means. I mean we cant have that now can we? Is it any fucking wonder the UK is so far behind the rest of Europe when it can't even educate it's children and teens properly about their own bodies and sex. The Government is so busy trying to "modernise" the industrial infrastructure of the country that they're forgot to educate the fucking masses and left it to the Star, the Sun and the Mirror to do it for them. WTF??? Does it break some kind of tv regulatory law to have the word penis on daytime tv? And these people are too busy being Nationalistic and worrying about losing the British pound and having the Queen's head on the currency (even though they're really German) to realise that its 2004 and not 1966 and the rest of the world is trying to EVOLVE. I dont know what concerns me more, the notion that the fucking Tories might recover somewhat with Michael "tell them what they want to hear" Howard or the concept that some people think the UKIP are a good thing

I really hope some millionaire starts backing the Monster Raving Looney Party 'cos at least then you could laugh at the whole thing.

I have to admit, I'm surprised MTV are playing that song at all... I'm wagering the ending has been cut for video play ("A woman with a cock! Tidy!" and so on). I think the thematic content of the song is probably a bit adult to be playing before 9pm or something. Even if the track's not full of swearing, it is full of ideas and jokes that are a bit much for daytime telly.

What I don't understand is why bother censoring it and playing it. There can't be much of a song left, can there? If you're removing the one joke around which the whole track revolves, it ain't going to come across well. It's just likely to look and sound silly (alright, sillier).

Incidentally, in GLC's Half-man, Half-machine video the robot character walks past five-foot tall graffiti which reads "ur mum's got a penis", halfway through the video. Did they show that?

They even censor it on late night MTV2 which is quite fucked. Its weird cos I'm sure near the beginning of the vid someone ses penis and it doesn't get beeped or watever.

Probably shown considering the title of the song is shown at the beginning and end, with no censoring of that naughty naughty 'p' word.
