No, its not missing the point. One of your ORIGINAL points in this thread, was that John Barnes and a whole load of black players were left out of this DVD because the FA don't like their skin colour. They have now been included, which has been done to appease people who saw it purely as a racist snub and not a simple misjudgement by the programme makers (note how it's NOT THE FA :-\). They've not been put in for their ability, but because they're black. In other words - "they're highlighting black players contribution to English football for the wrong reasons."

You keep talking about colour but fail to incorporate the player's ABILITY into this debate.

The English FA is run by elderly OAPs who use language behind closed doors that would put Big Ron to shame. Thats why no black players were included.

Also note the title of the thread please. If you had made the thread rubbishing the programme maker's decision to leave Barnes etc out, and based it on purely ability you wouldn't have much quarrel. The fact is you've decided to mix it in with insinuations that it was done for racist reasons, which it seems to me is ridiculous and why I object to your argument. There are plenty of reasons why players of ability (of any colour) may have been left out of this video, whether rightly or wrongly.

Heres one for ya - There is no John Barnes on the classic england team in pro-evolution soccer 4, dont think there are any black player in classic england - you can unlock paul ince but he was shit

Hmmm. This thread has almost confused myself now. For the record it is my belief that:

1. Many members of the English FA are likely to be racist.

2. That there is a large underbelly of BNP / racist-thinking-esque sympathy in England, especially in North England.

3. That this train of thought has contributed/resulted in a DVD compilation of England's best ever footballers not featuring any black players. EG: I couldn't imagine the Irish FA making a similar DVD and not including Paul McGrath but then again racist behaviour in Ireland is still "catching up" on those who promote it in England. But that's another thread...

4. That as soon as whoever does the FA's PR noticed this, they took the necessary steps to smokescreen this "oversight".

5. That John Barnes not being in pro evo 4 is a fucking joke 'cos Paul Ince is indeed pretty crap in that game.

6. I have no ill-feeling *at all* towards Kenny for this debate. I just sound a bit harsh when I type sometimes!
