| tesco rocks - not. Michael Lambert explained this to me before:
tesco's do not actually stock ANY of the records listed on their database. In fact, Tesco's music "database" is whatever their supplier's database is. So somewhere, there is a uk distro company who supply supermarket chains, who bought 1 record off cargo distro (who we use), and its on their database. Therefore, it's listed on Tescos 'cos tesco use that company's list.
If you order the record from tescos, they have to order it from that company. Tesco's do not own or stock any of the records on their "list".
well...other than the top 40 releases that they buy upfront 'cos they know they'll sell. |
