MTS vs Tesco's

Yo! dudes, do you know your record is on sale at tesco's?
Well through their website anyway. it would seem they sell all cds currently on UK release.

Not very punk rock though, i prefer record shops.

Anyone coming down to sunny edinburgh to see Oxes on Monday nite?

tesco rocks - not.

Michael Lambert explained this to me before:

tesco's do not actually stock ANY of the records listed on their database. In fact, Tesco's music "database" is whatever their supplier's database is. So somewhere, there is a uk distro company who supply supermarket chains, who bought 1 record off cargo distro (who we use), and its on their database. Therefore, it's listed on Tescos 'cos tesco use that company's list.

If you order the record from tescos, they have to order it from that company. Tesco's do not own or stock any of the records on their "list".

well...other than the top 40 releases that they buy upfront 'cos they know they'll sell.

Being a part time apologist and mindless automaton at Tesco's head office I can inform you with authority that they get all of their CDs, DVDs etc from a company with the wildly original name of "Entertainment UK".

Re: MTS vs Tesco's

ahhhhhhhh
well that makes more sense than someone looking in Tesco's for a Slint record, which to me sounds like a strange and wrong thing to do.

They're good for vegetables n stuff though, tesco not Slint, whom I presume are rubbish at vegetables.

Snoogins

E-UK used to do my head in completely when I worked for Safeway. I've never seen a company that can mess up their orders so much and get away with it. We ordered in 30 Supergrass albums one year and ended up getting 100 Thomas the Tank Engine videos which we could sell and they wouldnt let us return them.

Grrrrrr

"100 Thomas the Tank Engine videos"
