...'Pure Rock Fury' by Clutch might be the best album ever made.
Or maybe it's just that it kicked my ass so hard when I listened to it as I walked into work this morning that it has temporarily deafened me to every other record in the universe. It's definitely one of the two.
Of course, naysayers will point out that they are neither the most 'intellectual' nor wildly inventive band ever but man do they have their RAWK skills finely honed into some kind of enormous power-monster hybrid of a steamroller and an elephant that eats up bands like 'Kaiser Cheifs' and 'Babyshambles' and then turds them out (in the woods) while smoking a fag and drinking a beer. In fact, they almost didn't recognise the photo on my security card at reception this morning because my face had been stomped all over so much. |
