If you're worried that the music you own may be facilitating your speedy journey to Hades simply look up any record you intend to buy on www.pluggedinonline.com where some nice christians will tell you whether or not you should be purchasing it. It also covers movies and TV.
Here's what they have to say about Nirvana's "In Utero";

"The boys from Seattle recommend getting high and ending up with a hangover on the appropriately titled "Dumb." In Utero is noxious noise with no redeeming value. Kmart and Wal-Mart even refused to stock it when it was first released in 1993. They even have Counting Crows "August and Everything After" and Pearl Jam's "Yield" on their list of records to be wary of!! My word, those albums are about as scary as a glass of milk.

This review of "The Slim Shady LP" made me laugh out loud. Am I sick in the head?

"After slashing his woman's throat, the rapper takes his baby girl to dump mom's body in the ocean on "97 Bonnie &Clyde"("Where's momma?/ She's taking a little nap in the trunk/Oh, that smell?/Daddy must've run over a skunk"). A coked-up man brutally rapes a woman on "As the World Turns." Sexual savagery is also the focus of "My Name Is"(MTV's top-ranked video), on which the artist asks, "Hi, kids, do you like violence?" and talks of raping lesbians, carving up actress Pamela Lee, cutting his dad's throat and "f--[ing] anything that walks." He claims to have ripped out Hilary Clinton's tonsils and strangled someone before breaking their legs ("Role Model"), hit his mother over the head with a shovel ("Lounge") and slit someone's throat "worse than Ron Goldman" ("Just Don't Give a F--"). Other cuts boast of oral sex, casual sex with HIV-infected women, suicide attempts, robbery, murdering an unfaithful partner and raping a 15-year-old girl at a rave party. Obscenities and references to drug use (smoking dope, taking pills, shooting up) abound. One of the most diseased discs ever. "

In their review for "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" under the heading 'Spiritual Content' (they break down their review into various categories in order to more easily ascribe moral worth to whatever is being reviewed e.g. 'spiritual content', 'pro-social content', 'anti-social content', 'profane language' etc), anyway under 'Spiritual Content' there is only one sentence - "Burgundy says to his dog, "You're like a miniature Buddha." "

they seem to be more concerned about the work FUCK being in a song by the Who and not being bleeped (which i personally find to be the most annoying noise of all time, especially in the middle of a piece of music, and especially during a live performance of a band i like, such as the Who) by ABC during live 8 than the fact that their are millions of people needlessly starving and suffering in the world. why are they offended by the word fuck and not offended that they help to starve children to death.
I am offended by them, does that mean someone should bleep over the whole of fucking songs of praise so i'm not offended? no, of course not, i exercise my human faculties and self determination and decide not to watch something on tv that i know i wont like. are they surprised that former rock wildman roger daltry said fuck? they can fuck off as far as im concerned.


I thought christianity was about helping those less fortunate than yourselves and being nice to peole, but i have since discovered that to be false, its actually about being a sanctimonious, self righteous, judgemental, ill-informed, close minded, hateful, prejudiced, dogmatic, insular, intollerant over-zealeous, bigoted dickhead.

the fact that there are christians in the world i think disproves the existance of god. for if he/she/it did exist then they would surely have smited these assholes by now, or at least sued them for misrepresentation and slander.

Quite disappointed by the Marilyn Manson stuff, thought it would be a bit obvious. However, the advice about Smells Like Children is interesting...

Outrageous, androgynous makeup. Inflammatory stage antics. Anti-Christian rhetoric and a satanic pose. Toss in lyrics such as the ones on Children and there's ample reason to keep kids away from this band. The artist, issued this devilish warning to parents in Rip magazine [2/95]: "Raise your kids better or I'll be raising them for you." Heed it.

The review of NINs The Downward Spiral is good, it has no Pro-social content, and is apparently 'truly awful stuff'. I think its a reallly interesting album myself. Neither does the Bloodhound Gang's Hooray for Boobies (Hooray indeed) and cites 'unconventional sex' as one of the negatives.
Nor do they like the Butthole Syrfers Electric Larryland, which is a fine album that i personally recommend


Of Aaron carter (some arsehole from nsync's wee bro) he says "not a deplorable disc'. he is wrong, its completely deplorable. he recommends believe by cher.
