Cytoplasm is a watery gel in which cell structures are suspended within the cell membrane. Each cell contains a nucleus, which carries chromosomes (the structures which carry your dna) and governs the cell.

As far as I remember that is not quite right, the watery gel you speak of is in fact termed the cytosol. Cytoplasm is the contents of the cell with the exception of the nucleus. (in the case of a eukaryotic cell).
