On topic, I used to dig Faith No More a lot as a teenager but now they're just "pretty alright". I think I lost a lot of interest in Mike Patton related stuff in general when he kept releasing more music that wasn't Faith No More and it was universally rubbish but people still pretended like it was good anyway.

| Re: Faith No More to reform? Wasn't "classical", just had a cello in it. But no - I don't remember any of the actual sounds on the record, I've mentally blocked them.
That shit has been stinking up my shelves for nearly a decade now and yet it probably got more listens while you had a loan of it than it ever has in my house. I need to fuckin' shift it just to improve the karma of my CD collection. A quick scan of eBay shows that I could be getting somewhere in the range of £6 for that bad boy! Good to see Patton fans are still as rabid to snap up his work as ever!
Just realised I mentioned Bad Brains in a thrad that Chuck Moseley's name has also been brought up in. Before someone jumps in to drop radical musical history knowledge on my ass... I know.

He did go a bit eclectic after Faith No More for a while. |

So much rather see them than an FNM reunion.

Tomahawk was overwhelmingly mid-card material, and the overly long wait and accompanying hype for Peeping Tom made listening to how uninspiring it was when it finally came out probably the lowest point of my life since Wee Gay Bryan or Gay Wee Bryan or whatever the accepted phrasing is got his equally wee gay / gay wee cock out at a party and chased me down the hall with it. Mondo Cane is the embodiment of everything that ruins Patton for me post-FNM; I hate all this slicked-back hair, finger clicking "I'm incredibly on the fringe of musical hipness" shit. That video where Patton verbally destroys Wolfmother for being incredibly outdated and irrelevant is hilarious because of how right he is, but also because of how fairly ironic it is coming from him.

| Re: Faith No More to reform? Aye agree with his constant ripping of 'boring' bands. His try-hard projects don't exclude him from criticism though it makes it easy for Haterz of the likes of Wolfmother to associate more with him, as he's STICKIN IT TO THE MAN MAN! etc.
I mean, in an effort to disassociate from the extremely moribund output of these 'boring' bands, these fans flock more towards the extremely convoluted aspects of artists like Patton. That's my view though. I neither regard these 'boring' bands nor patton's experimental shit worthy of my opinion.

| Re: Faith No More to reform? I still maintain that the second Tomahawk album is fucking murderous.
Great stuff. Even with the trash (Paging Adult Themes For Voice) he's had at least four albums worth of music I love and listen to regularly since Faith No More.
Fantomas I can take or leave, they're so much better live than I've ever found listening to their albums to be. Not sure about what you're saying about the whole 'slicked-back hair, finger clicking "I'm incredibly on the fringe of musical hipness"' thing as that was Mike Patton for the latter half of Faith No More's career. |

| Re: Faith No More to reform? First two Tomahawk albums are fuckin legit good rocken roll. Third one is interesting but I've not given it enough of a discerning listen.

I like a lot of his musical output, but I'd say I listen to FNM or Bungle most regularly. Probably best to see some of the more recent stuff live, particularly the Kaada and Fantomas/Melvins dvds. |
