Favourite Ramones member?

Well, although Johnny Ramone 'taught' me how to 'play' *ahem* guitar, and Dee Dee was the bad-ass, I'd have to go with Joey.

He's the one that brought the cool 'doo-wap' surf stuff to the angry young man stuff that Dee Dee came up with, which I reckon made the Ramones so good at what they did. He also wasn't a particularly good singer, but he had a voice you'd recognise anywhere, one of these singers you can get comfort from hearing, y'know? And the way he could change how you pronounce certain words to fit a song... who else could get away with changing the words 'blitzkreig bop' to 'breeeeeee-bip!' and still have people into it?

He's also the only man there ever was who could wear shades all the time and not look like an utter fanny. Hey... d'ya think they buried him in those shades?

I met Clem Burke on the streets of Glasgow before a Mangara gig a few months ago... I didn't really know what to say to him, I just shook his hand vigorously for ages and ages...

My vote is for Dee Dee, cos, as you say, he was the bad ass.
