Sometimes literally.
Directed by Paul Andrew Williams (London to Brighton) and starring Andy Serkis (Gollum!), Reece Shearsmith (The League of Gentlemen) and Jennifer Ellison (Brookside). The story of the cottage is that of a kidnap going horribly wrong.
Dave (Serkis) and Peter (Shearsmith) have kidnapped local crime boss's daughter Tracy (Ellison) in what should have been the perfect crime. Obviously it doesn’t go to plan and before long there’s blood on the walls…the floor….the courtyard…the woods. You get the idea.
The Movie itself is wonderfully put together, the gore is over the top, the humour is dark and even the soundtrack is perfect for the mood of the movie. All the performances are top notch with each character interacting and complementing each other brilliantly, making this an excellent British horror comedy.
Go see it.

| Re: The Cottage comic timing's really good, incidentally. that shot of the knife in the door that's in the promo material is a classic moment.

| Re: The Cottage I thought Reece Shearsmith's acting at the start was very bad, it seemed like he was bored with a line half way through saying it. Slow start to the film but the gore bit is good. Whoever the lighting director was needed replacing, far too much obvious sunlight for a film set entirely at night. Ellison says "cunt" a lot and looks nice, Serkis is probably the best actor of the 3 in this film. |

| Re: The Cottage I really need to stop going to see films like this, thought it was dire and reminded me of the humour from Shawn of the Dead/Hot Fuss... which I didnt enjoy either The bf loved it tho, as will prolly everyone else, that just seems to be the way it is with me and films.

| Re: The Cottage Yeah, the first hour plodded along. And if you want a film to look like a kidnap movie and then unexpectedly turn into a "horror" then don't fill all the trailers with the horror element. |
