Thumbs up Movie: Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith

[image=left]http://www.alternativenation.net/gallery/files/2/4/8/GeneralGrievous4.jpg[/image]I’ll get the obvious question out of the way first, quickly and concisely. Yes. It’s good. Very good. I’d even go so far as to say that this movie is on a par with The Empire Strikes Back. That’s just how good it is. I've probably forgotten a lot of things that should be mentioned here, but I'll be seeing this a good many more times, and I suspect most other people will do the same.

From the incredible opening space battle—with shots that couldn’t even have been dreamed of in the ’70s, and couldn’t have been pulled off in the ’90s—leading straight into some fantastic lightsaber fights…it just doesn’t let up. Every time you think: “Okay, that’s it. The scene’s over, and things are going to quieten down”, you’re proven wrong. The intensity of the combat in this movie has been kicked up so many notches from the rest that The Phantom Menace’s battles look like...

I hated it- Yoda was class but the story was too rushed.

I can appreciate why people would like it though, after all, I wasnt waiting for this film for years.

Natalie Portman was AWFUL though, and the loveydovey bits were hilarious.

Just been talking about this elsewhere - Anyone think that maybe they shoved a pillow up there to make everyone think that her baby died with her?
I'd have thought that was rather obvious...the whole point was to hide the kids. To have a public funeral like that and have it look like she'd already had the kids without having a seperate funeral thingie for them would just make those intelligent Sith Lords go "Haw'd on a wee minute..."

I went expecting another ep1/ep2. I wasn't let down.

The lightsaber fight between Obi wan and the future Lord Vader was class to watch but a sword fight does not a movie make.

There is only to things that I thought should have been missed out though. That put a dampener on what I thought wasa half decent popcorn movie. Firstly and least importantly was to bring Chewbacca into it. If he's on first name terms with Yoda whys he running about as a co-pilot of the falcon with a rogue like Solo?

My biggest beef about the film though was the birth of vader. The whole howling at his misses death should never have been with the mask on. It would have been much better done whilst he was still on the surgery table then when the mask goes on and you see it for the 'first' time he's the evil Darth Vader that everyone kows and loves.

But couldn't DV send out a "sense their presence" type vibe to find out if they were born? Like Yoda was able to sense the death of Jedi across the galaxy, surely DV would be able to sense the birth of his children. Granted he might not have been feeling too braw at the time.
Also, having carried twins, it's quite often the case that a woman can still be rather large for quite a while, so she would still have looked pregnant in her coffin anyway.

Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith

Im sure there was something about the force needing awakening before it can be felt (not a SW buff so I could be talking about the Terry goodkind novels instead)

He didnt even know his wife was dead (and when he found out he was told he did it rather than through childbirth like he'd seen in his vision) so how would he know the kids had been born?

Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith

Finally got around to seeing this on Sunday, there. Not a good film, but an okay one. Tied up all those pesky loose ends very well, and whilst it felt decidedly average, it was around ten thousand times better than Episodes 1 & 2. Overall a 'meh', which is better than a 'pish!'.
