| Movie: Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith [image=left]http://www.alternativenation.net/gallery/files/2/4/8/GeneralGrievous4.jpg[/image]I’ll get the obvious question out of the way first, quickly and concisely. Yes. It’s good. Very good. I’d even go so far as to say that this movie is on a par with The Empire Strikes Back. That’s just how good it is. I've probably forgotten a lot of things that should be mentioned here, but I'll be seeing this a good many more times, and I suspect most other people will do the same.
From the incredible opening space battle—with shots that couldn’t even have been dreamed of in the ’70s, and couldn’t have been pulled off in the ’90s—leading straight into some fantastic lightsaber fights…it just doesn’t let up. Every time you think: “Okay, that’s it. The scene’s over, and things are going to quieten down”, you’re proven wrong. The intensity of the combat in this movie has been kicked up so many notches from the rest that The Phantom Menace’s battles look like...

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I'll be going on Thursday night.
I loved the first two but it'll take a while to be on a par with the original trilogy.
A feeling of hefty excitement cut short by smidge sadness as this is the last Star Wars film ever.
Oh well .... 'mon the Sith! ... I mean Syth |

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith Right.
First of all: Yes, it's good. Everything Steve says is acurate. It's well worth the money. Grievous is shit hot, and the Yoda CGI is also likewise brilliant, to the point where you forget he's a construct.
The script is brilliant in lots of places, but Lucas still can't write love scene dialogue to save his fat ass.
However: SPOILERS TO FOLLOW
I'm NOT KIDDING! BIG SPOILERS!
Written in white cos I don't know how to do that black bar thing..... The way Obi-wan dispatches Grievous - It's a fatal flaw in Grievous's design, and seems forced.
Darth Vader's scream at the end makes him look like a spaz.
Some of the exposition is heavily over-done. We all know that Palpatine is Sidious by now, we really don't need it hammered home again!
Once eveyone has had a chance to see it, I'll defend my points of view further, but I'm wary of posting anymore even with the spoiler tag.

Reason: white shows on black styles - added the [hide] spoiler tag instead

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I totally agree with the Vader thing. Like I said - Vader's voice / scream thing and Palpatine's makeup were the only things I disliked.
I thought Grievous' bits should have been WAY better armoured - But in a way, that kinda foreshadows the fatal flaw of the Empire overall... Arrogance. Grievous didn't bother with better armour, since he thinks he's simply too good to ever let anyone past what defences he does have.
BTW, spoiler tag is " [*Hide] ", minus the *. |
