| Movie: Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith [image=left]http://www.alternativenation.net/gallery/files/2/4/8/GeneralGrievous4.jpg[/image]I’ll get the obvious question out of the way first, quickly and concisely. Yes. It’s good. Very good. I’d even go so far as to say that this movie is on a par with The Empire Strikes Back. That’s just how good it is. I've probably forgotten a lot of things that should be mentioned here, but I'll be seeing this a good many more times, and I suspect most other people will do the same.
From the incredible opening space battle—with shots that couldn’t even have been dreamed of in the ’70s, and couldn’t have been pulled off in the ’90s—leading straight into some fantastic lightsaber fights…it just doesn’t let up. Every time you think: “Okay, that’s it. The scene’s over, and things are going to quieten down”, you’re proven wrong. The intensity of the combat in this movie has been kicked up so many notches from the rest that The Phantom Menace’s battles look like...

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I must admit I was expecting a much bigger and more impressive "hi here is Darth Vadar now he's finally turned to the Dark Side" scene. It was a bit of a let down really, but the rest of the movie more than made up for it

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I enjoyed it. Still doubt Lucas's ability to direct at points and felt certain things could have been handled better but it's worth a swaatch |

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I also thought it was amazing, I marked out for the references to the original trilogy like when Obi-Wan shot grievous with the blaster and said "So Uncivilised", Obi-Wan's call-sign being "Red Leader" at the start when they are going after the Emporer and some of the clones dialogue.
Went to the Omni centre in Edinburgh to watch it just after midnight and it was amazing, completely full of geeks with some people dressed up

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith Saw it last night, not overly impressed. Best of the 3 new ones (but it doesnt have much competition). Really dodgy dialogue and wooden acting for the most part. was a bit let down also by the turn of annakin, wasnt as big as i was hoping. Actually did like it but not as much as i hoped.

Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman were really good, Portman in particular ... bearing in mind the script folks. It was carried off really well.
Overall it had the feel of the classic trilogy for me, I think in time it'll be rated along with Empire or pretty close to it.
Ian McDiarmid stole the show, classic bad guy, he just reeked of evil. Excellent stuff.
I was more than convinced by Anakins turn, bearing in mind it all comes form his selfishness, he starts to lose it toward the end and before the duel he has goneover completely.
All in all a fitting end and I can't wait to watch them all in order.
As I was leaving the cinema I overheard a boy talking to his dad about it saying things like, "I didn't think Mace Windu would have died." Then I realised there are now two sets of Star Wars fans, original trilogy peeps, and prequel trilogy peeps and I think in 10 years time the prequel trilogy generation will slate Episode's IV, V and VI just as this generation let rip on I and II.
I enjoyed all of the movies and Revenge of the Sith will be one of my favourites.
...now to watch it a third time |

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I really liked it but I was well annoyed with how they kept calling anakin wise when he clearly is a dumb shit. Wee greedy bastard.
And I'm still waiting for mace to jump back up through the windu and punch anakin with his only good hand.

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith Thought the whole Anakin becoming classic Darth Vader ending could have been a lot better. It's as if the Emperor had this big black suit on standby in the chance that one of his minions would suffer horrific burns |

| Re: Movie : Star Wars Episode III - The Revenge Of The Sith I was quite impressed by it, especially in comparison to the first two. Admittedly the love scene dialouge was cheeseyn to the point of nausea, but the rest I didn't have a problem with.
I loved the actions scenes, and Anakin's turning for the most part seemed plausible and understandable, with other scene's like the slaughter of the younglings and yoda getting all emo being really effective. Can't really complain.
Well maybe just one bit.
Just one wee bit.
You see, at Padame's funeral, there's the shot of her, all dead, and the mourners, and the strangely Scottish weather, and there's this one shot, that I don't agree with.
The camera changes.
AND IT'S JAR JAR FUCKING BINKS!
FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
Couldn't he have just been left out? PLEASE? Why won't george just admit he has created one of the most hated characters in cinematic history (and not in the good way) and cut him out. What the hell are you trying to prove George? I couldn't give a shit if you thought Jar Jar was a good idea, you're in a minority of fucking one mate!

But that's just my opinion :P

Got a bit emo at the killing of the younglings and their bodies. I think I shouted 'kick his arse' a bit too loudly when Anakin and Shannow with a toupee Obi-Wan were fighting.
But aye, (Y) |
