SinCity is definitely for you.

You’re looking at a comic book movie, which is going to become as big as movies like Pulp Fiction amongst cult movie fans. There’s a huge all-star cast of top-quality actors who fit the comic book characters beautifully. Without going into too much detail about the cast you will enjoy a few familiar faces such as; Bruce Willis (Hartigan), Mickey Rourke (Marv), Rutger Hauer (Cardinal Roark) and Benicio Del Toro (Jackie Boy).

SinCity is split into three chapters based around the characters Hartigan, Marv and Dwight. It is a pseudo-realistic story set in a post modern century, a story that catapults the characters into a world of violence, sex, rape, murder and corruption. The overall story is about a busted-up old cop helping to protect a child from a child molester, a raging thug hell bent on revenge and a killer helping to fight the good fight. All executed beautifully by Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller and extra special guest director Quentin Tarantino.

What more is there to say?

This movie will blow you away. A must see for cult movie fans and action movie fans alike.

I was under the impression it was going to be an 18.
Some sources say 18 (IMDB).
Filmfocus.co.uk says 15.
I want it to be 18.

edit: BBFC says it's 18, thankfully.

It's great in comic form, I'm keen to see it on screen.

I wish A Dame to Kill For was part of the movie, but they are currently making that, so it'll be good to look back and see Dwight's past on screen.

Did you notice many differences with the comic, I heard there were additional bits?

MTV have a preview showing going on Wednesday after next in the UGC where all you have to do is print out a certain page from their website and you get a pair of free tickets.

I can't find the page though I'll go see it on the big screen this Wednesday anyway, can't wait to see it in ALL it's glory, it is sheer beauty and a really great film.

I wouldn't say Sin City was out right film noir, a term that gets bandied about with far too much liberal use. It owes more to post noir 60s crime thrillers like John Boorman's Point Blank and The Killers than the Maltese Falcon.
And Marv ain't nothing but the mentally ill Mike Hammer. Which is good.

Having never read any of the comics though, I can only hope they don't ruin it with a gash script.

The only extra bit in the movie was the last bit with the man/the general which they put in to tie The Big Fat Kill (Dwights arc) in with The Customer is always right (the short story at the beginning of the film/The test piece Rodriguez used to get everyone (Miller included) on board) which doesn't make sense unless you've read most of the comics.

The only other deviation from the comic was that they changed one or two lines of Marvs dialogue for cooler, meaner lines.
