Super John McClane! Now with added casual racism!
Seriously, how much fun is this movie? I might go see it again next week, I was so entertained.
Now, I'm no Johnny Yankee Doodle by any stretch of the imagination, but R-Rated is not the equivalent of an 18.
Can't believe I never posted in this thread already: this was probably the most entertaining and action-packed flick I've ever seen. Ticked all my boxes; casual racism, misogyny, jump-jets, the list goes on.
It was like the rhythm of the Benoit-Angle cage match in movie form.
For reference, the Die Hard series upon cinematic release received the following ratings in the US and UK:
DH - US R, UK 18
DH2 - US R, UK18
DH3 - US R, UK15 (but had scenes cut from the US version to meet this)
DH4 - US PG-13, UK15
In the US, R-rated films allow children under 17 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the film.
The US's NC-17 rating is the US rating that most closely mimics the 18 rating in the UK. (no admittance, similar to the 18 rating)
So while kids in the UK can be smoking at 17 compared to the US's kids having to wait till they're 18...US kids can freely watch John McClane killing Professor Snape over and over again.
The MPAA's a little funny like that.
NC-17 pretty much restricted to pornographic torture-porn and not much else
R-Rated - parents can bring you to 'em
PG-13 - We'd really like it if parents brought you, but well we're not really going to pay attention if they don't because we only 'suggest' parental guidance
PG - similar to PG-13, we suggest that you take yer kids to see it.
G - Disney. Yay.

I thought it was Good but lacked the same feel as the first 3. I could have sworn it was a new franchise altogether. If it wasn't for McClanes name being shouted every once in a while i would have forgot it was a die hard movie.
Chopper- "I once met a man who was paranoid about dying, so i shot him."
i just seen this tonight and it was not bad, some of the action was amazing like the car aimed at the helicopter, the harrier jump jet plane was excellent too just when you thought he was safe. i was a bit disapointed that the enemy combatants weren't from the future or new cyborgs cause in the first action scene the guy was jumping across buildings like spiderman before he railed him against a wall and then the lassie was the same hard to kill terminator style i kept waiting for her to come out of the flames. how was it racist btw? i thought the geek is a hard one to portray as a bad guy cause they're not good at manipulation they don't know what it's like irl. i was disapointed there wasn't an insider too. the action made up for it though especially in the tunnel when that car flew at them and landed on top between them wow.
another thing that puzzles me is how hollywood manages to make liberate us films but at the same time illustrate redneck ideas![]()
