| Iron Man Jon Favreau has been winning over the Iron Man fans by providing an unusual – for a big studio release – level of access to behind the scenes goings-on. But then it’s Favs – did we expect anything less?
Now comes word that Iron Man will follow in the suited footsteps of Marvel brethren X-Men and Spider-Man by grabbing an early May release date. May 2, 2008, in fact. Which means Favreau really needs to get cooking – he’s got just under two years left! We have a sneaking suspicion he’ll make it, even if it ends up just starring him and Vince Vaughn in Halloween costumes.
The movie will be released by Paramount and Marvel, and funded by Marvel’s new $525 million fund. http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=19031

| Re: More Marvel Movies - Iron Man Disturbingly, if Jon Favreau dropped about 50lbs, he'd make the perfect Stark with his facial features and beard that he's taken to wearing lately.
Shame he won't, but damnit he'd be the perfect spot for the role.
Shame he doesn't have very interesting stories that he spotlights in. Iron Man's always been the "Hi. I'm here. I happen to have shitloads of money, which puts me in charge. Uhm..I have this suit around here somewhere, hang on." |

Possibly throw in some superhero cameos. |

| Re: More Marvel Movies - Iron Man Oh dear Christ yes.... 90mins of Stark hanging about, pished out his nut on expensive vodka and rambling on about the commies while shagging Russian spies.
In fact, he can sit in a chair watching Spiderman 3 on DVD rambling about the commies and drinking while the Black Widow gives him a backrub. |

| Re: More Marvel Movies - Iron Man I heard the Iron Man armour was originally a portable blender for daiquiris. I'd like to see that in the film. And Gambit as well*

| Re: More Marvel Movies - Iron Man All they need to do is take that Howard Hughes biopic (The Aviator, wasn’t it?) and digitally superimpose the suit of armour every now and again. Slap a big poster campaign behind it and sell it to the gullible kiddies. Job done.
