Re: Indiana Jones 4 - May 2008

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

It's on the official site:

http://www.indianajones.com/site/index.html

"Kingdom" fits nicely with "Raiders" and "Temple" for a shortened version.

Quote:
A crystal skull is a model of a human skull made out of clear quartz crystal. A modern legend claims that there are 13 crystal skulls worldwide, of which five have actually been found, which have mystical powers and are of ancient origin. Such claims remain unproven. New skulls carved from crystal are made and sold regularly.

People who believe in the psychic power of crystal skulls say that the skulls are a center of radiant psychic energy and have the power to increase happiness and improve people's lives just by being held, handled and spoken with; others have suggested that crystal skulls can be used like crystal balls, to aid divination.

The healing and supernatural powers of crystal skulls have never been scientifically established. The scientific community at large has found no evidence of any unusual phenomena associated with the skulls nor any reason for further investigation.

Am i wrong in believing that River Phoenix who played young Indy (i think) was going to replace Harrison when he was older. Obviously if he hadn't died.

The title just reminds me of He-Man.

The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull clearly being some kind of mirror universe version of Castle Grey Skull, inhabited by a good Skelator and assulted by an evil He-Man.

River played Young Indy in a couple of short scenes in Last Crusade in 1989.

Sean Patrick Flannery played Young Indy for 4 years (1992-1996) after River Phoenix turned it down (River was given first shot at it, before going on to die in Johnny Depp's nightclub on Halloween of 1993)

Am i right though that the intention was for River to take over at a later stage?

They had wanted it - he didn't, hence turning down the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles role.

I think they should have a twist in it like Pinhead from Hellraiser comes to collect the villains at the end.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull

As opposed to the sense that everyone else talks? We all know the movie is going to be crap so who gives a fuck? They'll be a shitload of CGI in it allthough god knows why and Indi will just look passed it.

At the same time the way that movies are going these days they will just about do anything to give it the twist value.
