| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Raiders of the Lost Ark was a documentary feature on a rarely told story of a Nazi plot that could have changed the outcome of the North Africa WWII Campaign?
Temple of Doom was an in-depth study of indigenous cultures of the mid 20th Century Ganges basin?
Last Crusade was a thinly disguised attack on the materialism prevalent in today's Christian churches?
Why would the Crystal Skull be "a funny"...! |

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull The story's utter mince, there are too many shite CG animals, Shia LeBeouf is Shia LeBeouf all the way through the film, Denholm Elliot's still dead, and you're beaten over the head with every single minor plot development as if you're too much of a thicko to work anything out for yourself.
On the other hand, it's INDIANA FUCKING JONES running around and having adventures and being awesome.

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Shia LeBeouf is Shia LeBeouf much in the same way that Robert Downie Jnr is Robert Downie jnr.
For some roles I think it works well for him, others not so much. I thought he was toe curlingly bad in Disturbia, whereas I thought he shone in Transformers.
I like the kid.

Why would the Crystal Skull be "a funny"...! | Thanks, I have seen other Indiana Jones fims before!!1 Perhaps when you've seen the film, you'll understand what I mean. Particularly the last 15 minutes, where it's all complete nonsense. |

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull I'll back Devastator up on this one. Yes, Indy films are ludicrous and yes, they're supposed to be but my god, this was something special. Total gash but I loved every fucking minute. Unrelenting in implausibility. |

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Without the completely and utterly poiintless a-bomb scene and the embarassing monkey scene it would have been ok.
The ending was utterly vile.
The bits in-between were good.

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull silly but great fun.
the aliens are stretching things a bit far, but then who cares when there's that much car-chase/punching/snake/treasure/whip&hat/ancient-language/"bad-feeling" action?

| Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Not seen this yet but I keep hearing complaints that it's far-fetched.
If it's NOT far-fetched I'll want my money back.
All the Indy movies are gloriously preposterous.
I mean, God sends face-melting death angels to kill Nazis at the end of the one that's held up as a benchmark. And at the end of Last Crusade there's an immortal, magical knight from medieval England. |
