| Re: Shoot Em' Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti - 2007) I was quite dissapointed by this, after all the crank chat i went in quite pumped for it but just didn't get me goin the way crank did. To me it felt it was trying to hard with the one liners and the stylish look it was going for. I thought neither Giamatti or Owen felt natural at the parts they were playing whereas with Crank Statham was perfect. It's strange as i really like Giamatti as actor but i was thoroughly unexcited by him in this and in fact at times thought he's pretty shit. I reckon if they didn't try and mix in sentiment i would have enjoyed it more, i just feel if you're goin for the stylish gunplay cheesey quip type movie ala crank sentiment slows shit right down, despite bein loaded with gunfights this never felt like a fast paced action film at all. a strange mix all together for me.
Ps the old sliding along the ground shootin folk trick got a bit tiresome but fuckin loved the scene on the abseiling line mentioned before.
I didn't hate it though |

| I take it I was the only person that picked up on: Paul Giamatti's cell phone ringtone....you can practically hear Elmer Fudd (who Giamatti seems to have been inspired by for inflection lessons in this film) singing "Kill the Wabbit, Kill the Wabbit, Kill the Wabbit" |

| Re: Shoot Em' Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti - 2007) One of the most entertaining movies I've seen in ages. Mindless, ridiculous action, with a HUGE bodycount.
Cannae argue wi' that! |

| Re: Shoot Em' Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti - 2007) I think they made Monica Belluci a bit too haggard, but then maybe thats just me, shes normally gorgeous.

| Re: Shoot Em' Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti - 2007) Belluci was the worst thing in the film though. She severely irritated me, and her delivery was terrible. OK, yeah, probably because her English ain't great, but well, if that's the case, don't be in English language film.

| Re: Shoot Em' Up (Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti - 2007) According to a few interviews, the initial development of this film revolved entirely around the major gun battles. The plot, and a female 'love' interest were tacked on as almost afterthoughts. |
