| Resident Evil: Extinction Mini-interview with Ali Larter (starring in the least interesting of storylines on the tv show Heroes, also in Final Destination 1 and 2 as "the weird chick") regarding her role as Claire Redfield in the final installment of Resident Evil films from Paul WS Anderson http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index...ory=0&id=38799 Quote:
Ali Larter (NBC's Heroes) told SCI FI Wire that she enters major butt-kicking mode in the upcoming SF horror-action film Resident Evil: Extinction. Larter joins Resident Evil veteran Milla Jovovich in the third film based on the Capcom video-game franchise.
"Alice [Jovovich] comes back, and I play Claire Redfield, who's the head of this convoy that's traveling through the Nevada desert, pretty much after an apocalypse," Jovovich said in an interview. "We're just trying to survive [the latest encounter with mutant zombies]. It's survival of the fittest at this point, and it ends up being about who's actually going to be able to make it during this very difficult time on Earth. It gets pretty bloody."
Extinction is the third film in the series, in which a top-secret government virus has escaped and transformed humans into flesh-eating zombies.
To shoot the movie, "we went down to Mexicali, which is maybe the hottest place on Earth," Larter said. "I have pictures of me holding a thermometer, and it says 125 degrees. It was brutally hot. But it's fun to play these kinds of characters. I was able to run away, shoot some guns and have a great time with the other actors. It's also really fun to be in movies that people love to see. You can't take yourself that seriously all the time." Resident Evil: Extinction will be released in September 2007.
| So far, this is pretty much the most information released about the film...
RE1, in my opinion, was fun for what it was.
RE2 felt mostly needless and hackneyed.
I await RE3 with a sort of "Huh, that's out is it?" feeling. |

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction it sounds very reminisent of Land of the dead, could be that the use of the word convoy makes me think of trucks, ergo "dead reckoning"
so far this movie only registers a "shrug" from me, which considering i used to be a massive fan of the games isnt good.

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction Just watched the trailer for this last night pre-Ghost Rider.
Trailer starts Planet of the Apes-style, except with the Statue of Liberty from the New York, New York hotel and casino, Las Vegas buried beneath the sands and the ravages of the environment.
This is the last one, they always intended it to be a trilogy, so I'll watch it for that alone and then hopefully it gets put to rest. |

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction I think that trailer looks just plain baws covered in sand!
Even worse than the other two films, which were crap, and were only humoured by myself out of my own fondness for the games.
Silent Hill had the right idea, that film basically was the game. This is just a load of sand. Where are the zombies? WHERE? Where are the dogs with half a face? WHERE IS THE SCARY MANSION HOUSE!? Eh?
Sob.

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction Think they should have just left it after the first one. I feel the second one was just rushed with a ton of dodgy camera angles. It just deviated away from the sense of horror the first one installed. I don't have much hope for the third one to be honest.

Sob. | You saw baws, I say brilliant - I drive past that stretch of road every day for work, so seeing it 200-300 feet deep in sand gives me visceral chills. |

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction The proof will be in the pudding when it finaly comes out though. Should be interesting because where are the Zombies coming from and how much of a say did Capcom have in the making of it?

Several storylines from Code Veronica - Ali Larter (Nikki/Jessica from Heroes) - plays Claire Redfield.
Set 3-5 years after RE2, most of the world is infected with the T-Virus.
Albert Wesker
Most of the film is Alice escorting a convoy from Nevada to Alaska while being attacked by the undead. |

| Re: Resident Evil: Extinction Bit strange that Wesker never made an apperance untill now. I'll probably watch it for the hell of it, the joy of cinema cards. When you say Resident Evil 2 i'm presuming it's the game we are talking about?
If most of the world is affected then they have obviously moved in a different direction from the games then.
