see, i totally wasn't into the first one at all. it just baffles me that the second film could look far superior. i thought in film land it all went downhill after the first one. have i entered some other godly world where this is not the case anymore?

Also, GDT has come along in leaps and fucking bounds since he made the first film.
Although he will never top the majesty of 'Blade 2', of course.

Blade 2 is incredible, watched it again fairly recently (god bless Missing and it's £2 DVD range).
And thank fuck Agent Myers isn't in this one. You know, I've only seen him in one other thing ever. It was My Family. Say no more.

Producers insisted on Myers, they didn't feel that American audiences would be able to relate to a protagonist that wasn't an American caucasian.

I'd say so - remember, Big Ron is nearly 60 (what the fuck!) so he'll probably be getting on too much to play HB, and GDT and Mignola don't want Hellboy unless he's played by Ron. I can definitely see a BPRD spin-off in the future...
