| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army Hmm, Jones kind of sucked at doing the voice for the animated movies.
Heres hoping he's worked on his enunciation for the sequel. |

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army Didn't mind Jones as Abe in the animated stuff.
I was pretty high though, to be fair.
Frasier, you're so corpulent you don't just go around the magnificently-appointed Tuscan villa, you go around the magnificently-appointed Tuscan villa.

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army Just checked about and it is 100% true. found this on http://www.thedougjonesexperience.com/FAQs.htm Quote: He didn't do the voice! Why didn't he do the voice??
Right, we'll lay this ol' chestnut to rest once and for all.
Dougie will tell anyone who cares to ask - and believe me, he's been asked this one A LOT - that the intention right from the start was to dub the voice of Abe Sapien. Before Doug was even cast, there were rumours of David Hyde Pierce or Kevin Spacey doing Abe's voice, so all Dougie asked was for a chance at the voice. He did a great job as anyone present at the looping session will tell you, but ultimately it was the studios' choice, and they finally went with David Hyde Pierce (who, incidentally, is uncredited, at his own request - he regards Abe as wholly Doug's creation). Doug was disappointed as was only to be expected, BUT ... he will be the first one to tell you that David did a fantastic job and he backed up the studios' choice right from the start.
However, Doug will now be both body and voice of Abe Sapien as he goes into production of Hellboy II: The Golden Army in May, 2007.

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army Boo! David Hyde Pierce for Abe Sapien, Kelsey Grammer for Hellboy, Jane Leeves for Liz Sherman and John Mahoney as Trevor Bruttenholm.

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army I'm really looking forward to this. I thinks Jones did a good job on the Animated films with Abe, I'm pretty confident he'll do a good job though.
I'm really looking forward to the fact that this is a brand new story. Not one based off the comics. As much as I love the first one, it just didn't have the comic vibe. Hoping because of the new story it'll be a bit darker.

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army I CANNOT WAIT for this. The first was flawed and a bit rubbish, but it's heart was in the right place. Post-"Pan's Labyrinth" GDT clearly has the chops to realise Big Red's world the way it's supposed to be. Yaaas.

| Re: Hellboy 2 - The Golden Army As Sean, Mark and whatever-evapilotone's-name-is have said, the first movie was good but it's far from perfect and this is clearly going to be a huge step forward. I saw the trailer before 'The Incredibly Fucking Dull Hulk' and spent half the movie thinking about 'Hellboy 2' and 'Dark Knight' instead of Ed Norton.
