Kevin Smith's latest film got sold on title alone, it looks like. Should be set to start shooting next February and will of course make a gigantic profit on fanboys and girls alone. (Pirates series may make over a billion dollars in the course of a year, but only Kevin Smith these days can turn a $5million budget into a $10million weekend opening) |

I just saw a trailer for this, looks like he's returned to form a bit after dancing with commercial films.
It looks like it'll settle in nicely with the Superbad/40 Year Old Virgin type audience.
And I'm thankfully relieved I don't see any Affleck in the trailer.

Every review I've seen so far keeps saying the same thing: It feels more like a Seth Rogen movie than a Kevin Smith movie. Sure, it looks decently funny, but so far reviews are saying there's no quotes like your usual Kevin Smith flicks, the story is pretty crappy and there isn't much to it.
I can only hope they're wrong, I love Smith. I shall take this as another opportunity to tell people to listen to Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier every week on SModcast. Here is a list of them all for you to check out. | |
