| Captain America Marvel have announced that the next project is going to be Cap.

| Re: Captain America I wouldn't say "next project" like that. Both Magneto and Wolverine are set to come out long before Captain America.
They've also got funding for Ant-Man and a few other members of the Avengers. Word on the street is right around the time that the JLA film is due to start shooting (or Batman vs Superman film), Marvel should be putting together an Avengers film, possibly old school - possibly based on The Ultimates. |

would probably never happen but the idea of the Ultimate version of the hulk tearing up on the screen makes me smile |

The new JLA film got announced at the New York Comic-Con in February of this year.
Brandon Routh and Christian Bale both have options in their current contracts for a Batman vs Superman film (from Variety magazine, years ago - good luck finding a link), it's popular thought that the studio will try and get them in for the JLA and have a proper film.
As for the original film - I'd like to think that right now we're in the golden age of comic book films that don't suck.
Punisher was naw bad, Spider-man keeps breaking best-selling records, X-Men series was good. Batman and Superman are back (with mixed results on the Superman angle, but whatever) and Marvel keeps cranking out movie licensing contracts to Avi Arad. Loving every minute of it here. |

| Re: Captain America I agree we are getting a better examples of Comic Book movies.
My fear is that, as I am a huge fan of the justice league, that they are so going to fuck it up, or that it will get bogged down pre production and never materialize.
As to Bale and Routh, anything that stops the previously proposed horror that is the Batman v Superman movie has to be a good thing. |

| Re: Captain America Have always thought BvS made for a very good back-story to something more central. The JLA is always hella more entertaining when Batman is doing some shady Batman-style shenanigans and he ends up squaring off against Kent at some point. |

| Re: Captain America Yeah if done properly it would be good, but the proposed script, from Wolfgang Peterson, just didn't sit right with me, the conflict felt like it would be forced, rather than natural.
Both these characters have enough differences without having to make The Bat in to some vengeful monster.
As to the JLA movie, I agree, some thing along the Tower of Bable, story line would be interesting to see done, but that would rely on a first film being succesful, as it relys on someone screwing with the team dynamic |

Each movie will deal with the Superheroes' origins and begin to establish their relationship to each other which will set up "Superman vs. Batman" to follow the backstories. Superman and Batman find themselves at odds in "Superman v. Batman" when Bruce goes out seeking bloody vengeance on the murderer of his new bride, Jennifer. Superman opposes him, fights him to the near death - then it's discovered that the guy behind Jennifer's murder is also this big baddie in Superman's circle and they unite to fight or something sweet like that. | I fucking pray that this idea has changed. Marvel's upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America will be a World War II period piece, according to Sci Fi Wire.
The studio's president Kevin Feige revealed that the film, scheduled for a May 6, 2011 release, will lead into the Avengers movie, following six weeks later.
In the comic book series, the Captain America character was an experimental soldier for the US during World War II. He was later frozen in suspended animation and then revived by superhero team the Avengers in the present day.
Feige also confirmed Matthew Vaughn's exit from Thor, but said a new director would be in place "later this summer".
Speaking about the film's potential setting in the mythical world of Asgard, Feige said: "The film is not all Asgard, but it will be a big chunk in Asgard."
Negotiations are also reportedly underway with Jon Favreau to direct a sequel to this summer's Iron Man.
| Whoa, I didn't think they'd actually have more than 10-15 minutes of action in Asgard. |

Matthew Vaughn is doing Mark Millar's 'Kick Ass' instead, by the way. |

| Re: Captain America To my knowledge, Marvel will be taking bits and bobs from both the old-school and Ultimate story lines for the up and coming movies that are planned. I know they did for Ironman.
I think the best thing I've heard so far it that this movie will be based around WW2 with CA kicking Nazi Ass. Setting the story for the Avenger movie.
For the record, I'm not a huge Captain America fan when it comes to solo stories. I think he's piss poor with that in fact. He really shines in the team enviroment though. Looking forward to it.
Ant-man worries me though. They better include the wife/ant assault/rape scene...I doubt they will, but a nerd can hope.
