At that point, I think they just thought 'You know what would be AWESOME? Exploding humans!' |

| Re: Cloverfield (JJ Abrams, viral marketing) There's talk of a sequel, or possibly many sequels basically taking place on the exact same night during the exact same monster attack, but from other people's point of view as they also filmed the events with their camcorders / mobile phones / etc.
There's apparently a scene on the Brroklyn Bridge, which I either didn't notice or considered unimportant at the time and swiftly forgot all about it, where Hud turns around and sees another guy filming him.
According to director Matt Reeves, this second guy filming could potentially be the "Hud" of Cloverfield II, and that scene could be like a moment where two different movies are crossing over.
I can definitely think of lots of reasons why this is a shitty idea, but my favourite sequels are ones that help to flesh out characters and give a different perspective on people and events that we are already familiar with from previous movies (eg the Saw series), so I think I actually kind of like the idea. It's the perfect set-up for making a sequel, really, since most sequels just feature the exact same ideas as the previous movie but with slightly altered scenarios and characters. This concept for Cloverfield II would provide the opportunity for just that, but without the need for any cheesy excuses as to how the monster "comes back" or having to use a different location, etc.

| Re: Cloverfield (JJ Abrams, viral marketing) isaw it last night and i loved it. i thought that it was a different kind of monster movie with the fact it was done with the handheld camera it seemed to capture more of the fear and emotion. i was pretty freaked out myself watching it tbh because it felt more real than a film like godzilla did. i like the fact that there are no whats and whys about why the monster appeared and that u were in a sense feeling as bewildered about the whole thing as the characters.
the only downside for me was that although i have raved about the whole thing being on one camera, i was starting to feel a little dizzy because of it!!
basically to sum up i feel the film more than lived up to the hype and build up and its one ill be revisiting before it finishes in the cinema

I've already heard rumours of prequels, sequels and equals. This could be well be the American "Godzilla".
As long as they don't make "Son of Cloverfield"

Someone went to the trouble of recording it and playing it backwards. It's a guy saying "it's still alive".
