However, if nothing else, booking in advance, be it over the 'net, on the phone or in person at the Box Office, will make sure you get seats where you want (it's allocated seating you see), so it's a good idea from that point of view. | Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... The idea of allocated seats is a fuckin' terrible one, puts me off going really.
Why are they allocating seats anyway? They never did that at the old Odeon's all nighters.
That meant that you could buy a ticket for yourself and then, usually on the night, figure out who you were gonna sit beside. You'd meet friends in the pub, or outside the cinema, that you didn't even know were going and you could all get seats together. Or you'd meet people who didn't know about the all-nighter and they'd end up coming along as well.
None of that is possible with allocated seats, it'll completely fuck with the atmosphere of the night. STUPID STUPID IDEA. |

| Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... Because they think it'll sell out and nobody wants THE WRATH of some greeting faced zombie without a seat next to their pals. It's not really that complicated, work out who you're going with and buy tickets with them. JEEZO. |

| Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... No, but the old all nighters were a relaxed yet chaotic affair where you'd get groups of friends meeting up randomly on the night. Telling people where they can and can't sit was never something that they would have done and nobody ever complained. |

| Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... I strongly doubt that it'll be Nazi-like levels of organisation anyway, especially nearer the end when there's less people.
There must be a reason it IS seated this year though. |

| Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... I don't remember many people ever leaving throughout the night. No idea why they'd make it reserved seats, there were never any problems before. |

| Re: 5 movies, multiple deaths, one cinema... The plain old simple reason is there's over a hundred seats less in the Quay's biggest screen than at Renfield St's. Fitting, say, 350 people into a 550 seater screen is remarkable easy compared to fitting them into a 420 seater screen believe me!

Thanks, that makes much more sense than the "can't you organise in advance?" crap. |
