you have to love the poster for this film. How do they think they can further the brand of James Bond? they give him a bigger gun. Well, it worked for Rambo.

That they're taking cues for Rambo for inspiration should be a hint that as a franchise it's tired, has lost its identity and it needs more creativity than bigger explosions and more shagging to reinvigorate it. There are dozens of films released every year that revolve around that selfsame formula and James Bond does little to set itself apart, the occasional 'shaken not stirred' cliche notwithstanding.

And casino royale didn't have any gratuitous violence, non? Didnt the publicity play on it being the most graphic bond film to date?
I also consider Daniel Craig something of a charisma vacuum.

I dunno if it's anymore violent that License to Kill, infact i'd say it's not.
Craig's been brought in to add realism to the franchise. And to bring in a bit of change, I like him.
I'm not claiming Bond is comparable to the likes of "there will be blood" but it's a lot better than most of the tripe that gets pumped out of a similar genre. It's up there with the Bourne movies.

Isn't License to Kill the only Bond to be a 15? 
And as influences for 'new Bond' go, I'd have put the Bourne films up there well before Rambo...
