Robotech was as bad as G-Force for mistranslating the originals and turning them into kiddie fodder.

As a child, I couldn’t have cared less that it was licensed from a Japanese company and given different stickers. Jetfire was still the single coolest toy I owned.

Later on, I got one of the Battletech miniatures and painted it up to look like Jetfire. I was a fucking geeky kid.

The toys did come from the same mold, except Jetfire had a different head every so often than the one shown above.
Not got mine to hand, it's boxed and in storage, but IIRC it's about 12" tall in robot mode.
( Trivia : It's because of the Robotech cartoon's copyright ownership of the design that Jetfire was replaced with a more angular character named "Skyfire" in the Transformers cartoon. ) | |
