| Re: Equilibrium I once wondered in to this at the cinema, after watching something else, with my old ex, and tanking about 4 boxes of popcorn, haha.
Aye it was good - don't think I've seen it since then, mind you. Might have to remedy that.
Just remember that the guy who plays "father" is the same guy that plays Robert the Bruce, in Braveheart. Quote:

Oh no, Bale would be more appropriate actually, haha.. Yas.
It is done.

It's not bad, but I wouldn't put it anywhere close to The Matrix, it'd be a terrible film without Bale in it.

Genre films, comics, novels being similar - who would have thought it?

| Re: Equilibrium Yep, I'm aware of that, but to say it's not *that* similar to The Matrix when the guy who made it clearly sat down and watched The Matrix then read 1984 one after the other, is just silly.

| Re: Equilibrium The only thing I can think of that was remotely similar was bullet time and the uniforms (slightly). Apart from that, it wasn't similar at all. The story was completly different.

| Re: Equilibrium There wasn't even any bullet time...
Tonally its fairly similar, the "good versus evil"-eqsue plot, the grey/blue colouration used and the fact it featured martial arts and guns. Along similar lines you could say the Matrix ripped off blade...
But on nearly every point its similar its usually more to do with the "dystopian" genre then its is directly "ripping" (or even riffing) off the Matrix.

| Re: Equilibrium I never actually sat through it the other night as I have it on DVD. I could have sworn the end scene where he is running down the hall was done in bullet time. Never mind.
But yes, I agree.
