Equilibrium

is on Channel 4 in 15 minutes.

Good film. Mad family beatin' Bale saving dugs and slicing peoples faces aff.

Yeah, it's good, like 1984 meets The Matrix.

Like We meets the Matrix - it's as close to a film version of We as we'll ever see but the only similarities with 1984 are those which 1984 ripped off from We.

Edit : Not 15 mins but now 35 minutes. I thought it was later than it was.

I mind first seeing this film on a pirate VHS. Haha.

"Father" is a lot closer to Big Brother than he is to the Benefactor, mind, and the Two Minutes' Hate isn't borrowed from We. Fair point, otherwise.

The editing on this to add in the adverts is terrible. That's twice its cut off abruptly.

Apparently he now has to kill someone called "Fathe".

No one mentioned farenheight 451? Or is that too pedestran to be worth mentioning alongside obscure Russian sci Fi? Next you'll be telling us stalker was based on roadside picnic or some such...

No one mentioned Brave New World, either. It's a conspiracy.

Re: Equilibrium

Pure entertaining rip-off nonsense. Really love it for it's shiteness - Gun Kata is brilliant.

Bale can turn a completely rubbish film into something watchable easily though - see Reign of Fire as an example.

Re: Equilibrium

Gun Kata is fucking awesome.

I like the film, but I don't really think it's THAT similar to the Matrix. Sure, minor touches here or there, and it came out around the same time, but I think I actually prefer it to The Matrix.
