| Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 (2011) I loved the first Pirates. Depp as Cap'n Jack was entertaining and I felt he should have received more awards for that performance than he did (then again Hollywood rarely rewards comedy). The second film I looked forward to with huge anticipation and was hugely disappointed - Depp was still great but the film was daft. The last of the trilogy was entertaining enough but apart from flashes of greatness (such as Keith Richards cameo) the film was just a little drawn out and, dare I say it, dull at times so I was kind of glad that was the series had ended.
But no.
Depp has confirmed he has signed up for Pirates 4 and possibly 5. Still Keira Knightly has yet to sign and given that her character was one of the weakest in the series this may not be a good thing.
But Johnny. Go be quirky again. Unless the script writers improve then I really am not sure this is a good idea. http://www.newsday.com/entertainment...,2631809.story
I truly love the character of Cap'n Jack Sparrow but I am not convinced that revisiting him is a good thing at all.

| Re: Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 (2011) Ideally, the script will have Orlando Bloom shot through the head in the first scene. Repeatedly. So that there is absolutely no possibility of him appearing in the movie, beyond the passing mention of his name attached to the sentence "Hey, audience, remember who's dead and not reappearing? Just felt it was best to remind you in case you thought that was a plot device. It wasn't. He's really dead."
Then, and only then, the movie might have a chance of not making me want to gouge out my own eyeballs. |

Are there any great examples of movies/TV shows jumping back over the shark and being brilliant again?
