| Re: Avatar - Trailer Hype?
The first I seen/heard of this movie was on the morning news.
I thought it looked pretty spectacular.

| Re: Avatar - Trailer First I've heard of it is this thread. The trailer was pretty dull, showing off the CGI rather than featuring any of the story. I looked up the synopsis, don't think it sounds too great. |

| Re: Avatar - Trailer I think it's all about the CGI to be honest.
It's supposed to be an immersive 3d experience, rather than having pointy things coming out the screen at you.

| Re: Avatar - Trailer Hold on a minute, folk have seriously not seen all the hype for this? It’s been getting pushed heavily for at least the past three years. Most expensive movie ever made, etc etc. Cameron’s pet project, for which he has pretty much single-handedly funded the development of modern 3D moviemaking techniques. His first piece of fiction since Titanic. Grand folly of our times, all set to rival Waterworld for epic fail-ness.
Somehow, the advance word is that this film is roughly twenty million times better than it should be. Everyone’s ready for Cameron to fail spectacularly but word is that he’s pulled this off big time and made a truly great movie.

| Re: Avatar - Trailer A massive amount of hype about this movie, I read somewhere that the 1st 9 min got showed at a film festival and people were amazed.

| Re: Avatar - Trailer Was chatting to a mate about this, who's also a huge James Cameron fan.
I think if this movie is anything less than "Fucking amazing", Cameron is really going to regret the timing of District 9's release when the end-of-year breakdowns come in.
That said, I hope it lives up to its promise.
Trailer looks... deceptive. Could go either way. |
