| Halloween All Nighter Does anyone know if any of the Glasgow cinemas are doing an all-night halloween film marathon?
I know the Odeon at the Quay did it last year but I can't seem to find out if anyone's doing it this year. |

As I've mentioned on these threads for the past few years, a lot of the stuff people want to see simply does not exist on film any more, or if it does, is so faded, or scratched, or just plain old, that you can't make much out when you watch it. Given that we charge you your hard-earned cash, we think you should actually watch a film, rather than stare at a pitch-black screen (Halloween), or a horribly bleached out verion of Friday 13th where everything's an interesting shade of yellow-green.
As for what is available, we are at the mercy of the distributors, plain and simple. If they don't want to give us what we ask for, they don't have to. It's their ball, so to speak, and if they don't like what we're offering, either in terms of money, screen-size, or any of the numerous other conditions of film booking, they'll quite happily take it and find other folk to play with! We have to find a balance between agreeing to their terms, and spending so much that we have to hike the ticket prices up by an extra £10 to cover the fees.
Still, if we get what we asked for this year, I'll be happy!

| Re: Halloween All Nighter Good to hear. A friend of mine who was a friend of the guy who used to run this has been saying it's packed in, but it'll be good to see what will be shown.
I'll be coming straight from the Cannibal Corpse gig. This halloween will be AWESOME.

I'll update this thread as much as I possibly can, but you can always check Odeon.co.uk as well, incase they confirm it whilst I'm nowhere near a computer! Quote:

They were in the Glasgow Cinema "scene" or whatever they nicknamed it.
They seemed to know everyone at the Quey.

| Re: Halloween All Nighter Nah, I'm pretty sure you don't know me. I know Paco through Neil(used to be my flatmate then he went worked at the odeon and he's Paco's flatmate now). I also know Lindsay and some of the other former UGC/Cineworlders. Also if any of the Security guys come down from cineworld I know all of them. You might recognise as about the only group that wasn't pissed at previous all nighters. |
