| Re: Awful Batman film The most important thing in any Burton film is always style, and Burtons Batman films were stylised to the nth degree, which was the major appeal of them. Nolan's Batman seems a lot more stark and grounded, totally story/character driven. This falters a bit when the cast are weak (Holmes obviously) but otherwise made for a very enjoyable and quite a fresh look at the dark knight.
Both have their high points, and can only be defined as style over substance/substance over style when placed in contrast with each other. |

I agree on the non-remaking of the ther Batman films, but is that just a dirty rumour? Just keep thinking "dirty dirty rumour" |

| Re: Awful Batman film I get what you mean about Burtons films and beinbg very heavily stylised, you're right..Bo Welsh is an absolute genius and I don't think any set will drop my jaw like the original Gotham in Batman.
However, I actually prefer the storyline and dialogue in the Burtons aswell as the style, and although the Nolan film is more grounded I would say Burtons is altogether a better film, style aside.
I did still like the Christopher Nolan version though, and I get what you mean.

Pretty sure sure that Nolans had about twice the amount of dialogue and a far more complex story. I still find it quite hard to compare the two when their main points of emphasis (style and substance) are so far from each other. Quote: |

| Re: Awful Batman film as far as i was aware they are going to be making more movies but they are not supposed to be remakes of batman and batman returns, but they will have the villains that happen to appear in those films. I think the idea here is to start this as a whole new set of films, totally removed from the originally four, just as Batman Begins itself was made. |
