Apparently flicks about Brit twenty-somethings are all the same, never mind that one's about a group having a laugh with drugs over the w/e, while the other focuses on some sober morose kids who work night-shift and have NO FUN WHATSOEVER in their lives. Gah. | <Ponders>
And Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels! That was like Human Traffic, but with more alcohol and violence!
And a damn good TV series. Utterly brilliant one, in fact. |

I'd hate him less, but the little fanboysand girls won't stop gibbering on about it make me wish he was never born. Ah well. |

| Re: Undiscovered Gems On topic though....
A Gunfight - Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash play two of the greatest, and retired, gunfighters in the West. When they both happen to be in the same town at the same time the enthusiastic betting of the locals leads each man to consider whether or not the money from one final shoot out is enough to solve their own problems.
Aguirre: Wrath of God - Troop of whateverteenth century soldiers and missionaries travel to South America in search of El Dorado. Raging rivers. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Klaus Kinski going mental. Monkeys. One of my all time favourite films. |

| Re: Undiscovered Gems Dogs in Space - It's about a bunch of crazy Australians. Some of them are in a band. It's got Michael Hutchence in, as well as having a fucking amazing soundtrack.
[image=left]http://www.acmi.net.au/experience/images/img_carsateparis.jpg[/image] The Cars that Ate Paris - More crazy Australians, only this time they have a pathological hatred of cars, and set up the roads around their village (via clever use of mirrors) to send any cars that come their way over the edge of cliffs. Then they salvage the scrap. Ends up in a huge rammy with loads of customised cars, including a VW Beetle covered in spikes. Shaolin Soccer - No one has any excuse for not having seen this, it was out in the cinema and everything. It's about eight million times better than you would think a film about football could possibly be. Fucking hilarious, too.
I'm going to have to come back to this one after I've had a think.
Good shouts so far include Brazil, Pi, La Haine (award-winning, not particularly obscure, but fucking excellent), and Tetsuo - Iron Man.
