That's all well and good, but really if there's one thing we've learned from recent comic book adaptations (Sin City aside) is that they just stick whatever the fuck suits them in there.

Even in terms of adaptinging Year One they didn't follow it, Gordon wasn't from Chicago etc. The Scarecrow head of Arkham?
In any story that hints at the Joker's origins from The Man Who Laughed to various Legends arcs the Joker has been anything but a "young thug".

Anyway it's immaterial as it's a film not a comic. | |

Wayne Pygram played Scorpius in Farscape.
I realised when I stuck the pic from Dead End up, that the Joker in that looked a bit like him, and he might be OK for the part.
