| Re: Batman - The Dark Knight I was hoping that they'd make a faithful adaptation of The Killing Joke at some point, possibly as a 4th film, but it looks like they're stealing bits of its plot for this one. Quote: |
Batman and Lt. Gordan work together to bring all the inmates and Crane back to justice. They soon find alliance with the new DA official, Harvey Dent who's Rachel Dawes' new partner. Out of all the escaped inmates, only one hasn't been captured. His name is Jack Napier, but refers to himself as the Joker. He becomes obsessed with Batman and uses his sick, twisted sense of humor to lure Batman out into the open by killing all that are close to him. Will Batman Bring him to Justice or has the Joker had the last laugh?
| Quote: Is the film based on or inspired by any previous Batman material?
Batman #1, The Joker's Five-Way Revenge, and The Killing Joke have been hinted at or definitively referenced as an inspiration for the Joker. The portrayal of Harvey Dent is thought to be influenced by Batman: The Long Halloween. More generally to a number of comics, it is speculated that Batman's detective skills will play a larger role in the sequel. | |

Still think Buscemi would've been a good choice. | I have to agree, Im not supposed to fancy the joker, plus I do love Buscemi.
Im not too sure about Ledger, good call but, because I reckon itll make a lot of folk want to see it to see how he plays it.

| Re: Batman - The Dark Knight Less Killing Joke, more The Man Who Laughed or LOTDK 50 would probably equal a better story but I don't really care about this cinematic exercise.
When this appearas when ever it's due there will be sad sods complaining about how white the Joker's face is or isn't. |

| Re: Batman - The Dark Knight i think you all will be surprised with heath ledgers performance.
i havent seen him play a role badly, and ive seen a fair few of his movies.
hes one of the most under rated actors in hollywood, and his range is fucking brilliant.
thing is, he only works on scripts he wants to work on, hence why we dont see him alot.
afaik he dont need money. |

| Re: Batman - The Dark Knight I think they must have had their reasons for casting him, look how good Bale was, wasnt there a bit of doubt around him?
What kind of accent does the joker have, out of interest?

Given Gotham's supposed placing, I'd surmise that it would be generic eastern american.
