Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

I can't wait to have money again so I don't end up spending my Saturday nights discussing forthcoming comic book movies for another three weeks or so. Not that right now it isn't interesting.

Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

Stuff like the Killing Joke and Mazzucheli's 'Year One' are thankfully inmossible to adapt. But I loved 'Begins' and hope they continue in this vein.

I don't think that either would be impossible to adapt. Maybe impossible to adapt as a family movie.

Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

Both are triumphs of the comic genre and make use of all the advantages contained therein, the things that I love about both are the things that make them unfilmable.

And you were supposed to e-mail me!

Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

I'm not in Glasgow. Sorry, i forgot.

Also. Film techniques have moved on a lot in the last decade. If they can produce films like Sin City, The Fountain (boring as it is) and 300 then I'm sure they could easily do Year One or Killing Joke. All it would take is for the director to really really want to. Graphic Novels as storyboards is obviously the way to go.

Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

Nah, I don't think in either case the pacing would work as a movie.

And Sin City was written and illustrated an homage to film noir, making a movie out of it is really just completing the cycle.

You've probably seen THIS WEBSITE. It's a campaign site for Harvey Dent's District Attorney campaign (Dent is played by Aaron Eckhart in THE DARK KNIGHT).

However, you may not have noticed THIS WEBSITE. Evidently hacked by the Joker, there's something going on here that should mobilize AICN readers (and geeks far and wide) ASAP.

The picture of Harvey Dent is slowly deteriorating...pixel by pixel...revealing an image concealed underneath. You can help the process along...and completely uncover the picture that's underneath.

The site asks for your e-mail address & prompts you to enter a code. I am told doing so leads to your receiving an e-mail that...when utilized correctly...will remove another pixel from the top image. I haven't actually gotten this to work myself, but I have a terminally wonky computer, so this is no surprise.

Re: Batman - The Dark Knight

I just saw that picture of the joker, pretty freaky, apparently, they researched more into facial scaring rather than the almost clownish versions of the Joker before. The film sounds pretty good, although i have to say, i did always love Nicholson as the Joker.
