You could argue that they were typical American family movies.
T1 - Woman wants a man to have a family with. Gets a man, gets a kid. Man dies.
T2 - Boy wants a father, gets a father. Woman wants a man she can trust, eventually gets a cyborg she can trust. The Cyborg Man dies.
T3 - Manboy without purpose, meets a woman, finds a father figure. Father figure sacrifices himself for manboy and woman so they can have a normal family life...in a cave.

If you were still taking it seriously, the cemetary scene with the "seeing strange things, impossible things" psychiatric doctor going into a wee world of his own would surely have destroyed it.

| Re: Terminator 4? Who would really care if Arnie wasn't in the 4th film?
I think that Arnie's inclusion in T3 is most likely wat ruined it because of the changes that Arnie insisted on due to his forthcoming political career.
Imagine T3 with no Arnie in it and you end up imagining a film with more killing, less slapstick and no corny jokes. T3 should have been an all out crazy sci-fi death-fest that could actually advance the storyline instead of being the festering abortion that it became. Because of the crappy schtick all the way through it the ending sits uneasily, it was more Roadrunner Vs Coyote than "trying to avoid certain death and avert a global catastrophe". |

| Re: Terminator 4? Agreed. I'll admit I giggled at the 'impossible things' part, but it wasn't appropriate.
If this one isn't amazingly future war-like and all sorts, I'll be....actually I won't care that much, but I'd be happoer if it was.

McG is directing and rumour has it that he just cast Christian Bale as John Connor.
Hmmm... |

Disaster. In saying this, I've never even seen the 3rd one. I know dogshit when I smell it, I don't need to see it for proof.
