With a musical base rooted half way between bombastic goth operatics and traditional rock guitar work outs,
Heart Of Everything can make for an odd listening experience, especially with the overwrought diva vocals of Sharon Del Adel plastered on top.
Overly camp and cheesy in places, as on the shitty silly balladry of
All I Need yet head noddingly rocking in others, such as the Free styled riff work out of the title cut, the album is a mix of good and ugly, with a slight emphasis on ugly.
In the oddest musical moment yet of 2007, Keith Caputo turns up on
What Have You Done to trade vocals with Del Adel on a surprisingly strong chunky nugget of goth rock.
A mixed bag but of enough quality for those interested in gothic...
